Students at a school in New Orleans, Louisiana were in for a big surprise recently when Reese Witherspoon showed up as a volunteer teacher for the day.
Reese’s teacher-for-a-day stint, which was filmed for the upcoming “American Idol” charity special “Idol Gives Back,” was at the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom School, where at-risk kids learn to become community leaders.
The children were read to by Reese and also had help with their studies by the Academy Award winner.
Other celebrities taking part in the charity special, which is set to air on April 9th, are Brad Pitt, Bono, John Legend, Snoop Dogg and Carrie Underwood.
